As you are aware, in August of 2017 the UAW took exception to GM’s position that certain retirees of Delphi were not eligible for the UAW-FCA-Ford-General Motors Legal Services Plan.
I am happy to report that the parties have agreed that former GM/Delphi workers who are covered under the Benefit Guarantee and/or “checked the box” in the 2006 Special Attrition Program who receive pension benefits under the General Motors Hourly-Rate Employees Pension Plan are now eligible for benefits under the legal services program. Surviving spouses of these retired workers who receive pension benefits under the General Motors Hourly-Rate Employees Pension Plan are also eligible. Please note that individuals receiving a deferred vested pension are not eligible.
To open a case with the Plan, members must call 800-482-7700. A Plan representative will check eligibility, explain what coverage is available and will assign an attorney to their case.
